 		 #132890 - how do we test whether MAX232 is working
i am using a max 232CPE to connect to the COM port of my computer. i am not getting any msg in the computer. in the hyperterminal window, how do i check whether the max 232 is actually sending any data to the computer!

i am not connecting any micro controller and short circuiting 11 and 12 pins of max 232CPE. is the connection correct.

please reply.
