#133498 - Guys, guys
Responding to: ???'s previous message
You are trying to generalize what almost always is a special csse.
Richards statement:
That's not to say that they don't exist. I just haven't run into 'em. I guess I'm lucky.

my $0.02:
when connecting to a PC and it does not work, find out why and fix it. Trying to fix it before you know what to fix is futile. I had one of our "embedded PC" only "I am wearing blinkers, can not see anything else" guys (yes we have some of those) make a program feeding my app some data. I stated nothing re requirements for the 232 connection beyond baud rate and stop bits. He made this "as he wanted" No DTE RTS or whatever was needed to connect. Is this to say that I could not have 'found out' that I needed a short in the cable, of course not, it just illustrates that you do not know what you need till you see it.
