There is some virtue in entertaining weird concepts; in this case, an over-inflated sense of self reliance. It's why many eyeballs make all bugs shallow. Jan's statement... PS Actually, ALL the derivatives you listed are UART-ISP-able (although the details differ - have a peek at my website there's a comparison chart regarding ISP, listing most of what you mentioned), so you might be quite well off with a teletype... well, sort of. But a dummy alphanumeric terminal would certainly do. ...enlightened me to the fact that there is a hole in my knowledge, namely, serial data transfer protocol. Maybe not a hole, but a thin spot, at least. I've been attempting a crash/refresher. I'm starting to feel more comfortable with the whole serial thing. Would it be possible to just wire the chip to the serial port and push data through with Perl? |
