No, arrow on the top one points to the supply rail. Led is COLLECTOR load on the circuit. But Rob's gotcha still applies. What you really is an NPN transistor as level shifter on the input, then an NPN to drive the load....



I know its as rough as a bears arse, I can't draw freehand with a mouse to save my life.
