#45967 - RE: making \\\'51 derivatives popular, Rob
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hallo Peter,

I had a similar problem some time ago. Was using 87C552. Then ,suddenly, device became extremely expensive and then for me obsolete. 'Support' by Philips in these days was so unfriendly and arrogant, that I also said: Bye, bye, Philips.

I cannot understand, that companies are not spending more time and energy to produce reliable and available mcus. Imagine there's a mcu without revisions, without erratas, without those many 'TBD', just working nicely, with real support from manufacturer. Imagine that there is programming software really working with all PCs, with all parts of manufacturer. Imagine that datasheet is written by a real expert, not needing to have to read between the lines, not needing to have to make your own measurements, not needing to hope that in one year device will show same performance...................

Is Cygnal really that good? Should I work with these mcus?

Bye,
Kai
