A long time ago, there was a thread by "Jay C. Box" - an early contributor, on the efficient linearisations of transducers, using spreadsheets to create tables of coefficients.

How accurate do you need the rate ? How often does it need updating ? If its a low rate you can wait longer for an update perhaps.
