#55083 - Roll your own core? Responding to: ???'s previous message |
It's not magic!
To write your own core, you need to fully understand the entire function of whatever you're trying to implement - and then you need to know how to express that in VHDL. I seem to remember you're on the 'C' side of the 'C'-vs-assembler debate; but to implement an 8051 core you not only need to understand Assembler in minute detail - you'll need to understand the chip itself to gate level! Or gate-equivalent level at least! ;-) |
