When I get back towork I will[post my PCB srtwork for TQFP and SSOP which I DID successfully use as a prototype. I use precoated board and a high res laser print.

It is do-able, but I have a lot of experience with the process, it needs good artwork, and a very high degree of contact between the artwork and the PCB - I have a vacuum bag.
