Agreed. I find SMD spray flux helps too. Sadly I find my hands shake a little too much these days.

Incidentally, it's been crossing my mind recently that it should be possible to convert an inkjet printer to "print" on PCB's using etch resist instead of ink. Anybody know if such a beast exists? Printing speed could be reduced to improve coverage, and effectively you would only be talking about a single cartridge printer.

Or how about fitting a UV source in a printhead and "printing" direct onto photo-sensitive boards?
