Where is all of the lead currently in use going to be put, if it can't be recycled into new product? Back into the ground?

I have seen a shocking documentation in tv some weeks ago: Old PCs were shipped to India and were 'recycled' there by highly unsane and dangerous methods, means some parts were put into tanks of acid, while others were burried into soil...

Shocking was, that this seems to be the standard recycling practice 'sponsored' by some of the most relevant global player companies.
