Definitely, there are two different serial protocols. The main difference is that the UART is asynchronous protocol but the SPI is synchronous one. The synchronous protocol means that each bit you send is synchronized by clock pulse provided by separate line. The asynchronous protocol means that each byte you send is synchronized by the start bit of this byte. To Anders The main difference is that SPI has one clock line and one data line and that UART uses start bit and a fixed speed to pick out the data bits Sorry mate, but SPI has two data lines: MISO and MOSI. |
