I live <5km from the shore. Most of the deads are holiday maker who when out for picnic or fishing. Seem there are not many victims and the families claimed and perform burial ASAP, so we don't any corpes lying around. The huge tidal only happened after 3 hours of the earthquake. Penang was never equiped to face this kind of disaster since we are not on the earthquake ring.
In the next few day we are going to face fish shortage.
I'm lucky that thick wood/mangrove protecting me and family from the wave.
