Very touching, heart rending scenes on TV. Can't imagine the extent of misery the survivors are going through. For those who need an Indian perspective on the latest here, see http://www.ndtv.com

Much will be needed in terms of aid to the survivors. Already, govt is asking for international aid and is promising it to other affected countries. But news reports show that administrative machinery has not even visited the affected people even 24 hours after the calamity. This is the sadder part. Just think of what the affected will eat / drink. The calamity struck on Sunday and today is Tuesday.
