Read today's newspapers, the Indian papers. We knew and we did nothing or preferred to ignore it. The statements from the national institute heads are shockingly callous. Do you expect the 7th Fleet to land at Madras (or wherever) and evacuate people whose own elected govt does not care?
I know this forum is not the place for this ranting and can degenerate to flaming, but 6000 dead is a very large figure too.
