#84026 - I am still Hopeful ! Raghu Responding to: ???'s previous message |
My dear Raghu,
I sure agree with all that you have said. But I am still hopeful that with "something" in place we can reduce the toll by significant amount. The problem is mainly not the lack of ideas, its the poverty of people at the coastal dwellings and the fisherfolks who can't afford such resources. Like every fishing boat can be well equiped with life saving harness, 15 minutes respirator and a radio for warning. But these folks can barely manage rents of their boats and two times meals to maintain their living. The other problem is the indifference of these Governments. CNN said US has been "frantically" trying to warn these governments but yet we all know the state of affairs in this part of the world. What I meant to say, some kind of sensors at sea beds where it is likely to shake and permanent BUOY floats above that with satellite link to warn by radio activating Beacons and sirens at the beaches.....could have given enough time to evade at least to half of the total deads in this tragedy. Let's calculate how long it took to reach INDIA and KYNEA exactly after the bed shook. Need no modelling at all. Just warn every coast involved. An idea Not far from reality to implement.
