Indian Govt knew at 6.30 am (IST) that the Indian Air Force base at Car Nicobar(right next to Sumatra) was destroyed. The Tsunami hit Madras more that 2 hours later, which is true for the whole of east coast of mainland India and Sri Lanka. We have over the past 12 years lost nearly 40,000 people to quakes.
Who would have believed what has happened could have happened a week ago
is ok for someone sitting in a geologically stable region, not acceptable attitude for us.
