A few years ago I considered a chip that did NVRAM by having a SRAM and a flash in a chip that automatically at power down copied the SRAM to flash and the opposite at power up. I have raked my brain as to the chip or company name, but come up short. The reason I mention this is that this mamory is a true SRAM replacement (no serial stuff). Someone should remember that mfgr and chip as I recall someone posting using it. The chip is a direct replacement for the Dallas NVRAMs
