#87691 - Consultants Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I'm not sure how the DRC settings could have led to inadvertant vias, but you are hitting on a very valuable lesson.
When you hire a consultant to layout/design a PWB (Printed Wiring Board), make certain (s)he understands both the manufacturing and assembly processes. The industry catch phrase is DFM (Design For Manufacture). A good designer will produce the board which will manufacture for the least cost possible while still meeting your requirements. As a rule, a good designer will also work closely with your engineers in making layout decisions. A bad/inexperienced/incompetent designer can very easily double or triple the cost of a board. |
