They bought it just 3 years ago. And the other vendors of HC08 tools are also good. Of course this has the upside that I mentioned earlier and even better upto 12k code version of CodeWarrior is now free. Possibly, to quickly popularize a proprietory chip family, the manufacturer will give lots of tools free/cheap with training. Which is good for small developers like me.
The HiTech C compiler toolset for PIC18F is top class too. |
