#95318 - Obsessed? moi!
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Only "Obsessed" in the same way that Michael is "obsessed" with the SiLabs parts - a satisfied customer, happy to recommend them.
(actaully, I don't know much about Zylogic as a company - just the products, previously from Triscend).

They are one company who will suply you with a core which will cost you $5000-$10000.

Err, no.
They don't sell a core; they sell a chip with a "hard" 8032 in it. Thus you don't pay their NRE (non-recurrent engineering) fees; the cost of the IP is reflected in the price of the chip - as for any other standard, off-the-shelf microcontroller.

The only other company I know of with a similar product is Atmel with their FPSLIC.
Anyone know of any others?

... zylogic will be rubbing their hands with glee as they can charge him more for new functions.

I have no idea whether Zylogic offer consultancy like this to implement functionality in the FPGA to the customer's requirements - but they certainly wouldn't be adding to the "hard" 8032 core.
