This reply of mine went really off topic.
You may rather ignore it. Craig Steiner said:

I'm already proud of leaving university. I Passed 2/3 + of the Hardware Eng. curriculum, Then one shiny day I woke up and simply decided against going to the university. Any particular reason why? There are other reasons of course but one reason is: Stupid-o-ocratic systems make the not-stupid-enough fail, Here the system is designed to bubble-sort up the stupidest, look at our newly brute-force elected president, look at our 'religious leader', ... All side effect/aftershocks of the 1979 'Islamic' revolution/quake. When until recently univ. authorities strictly/litterally banned boys/girls talk to each other -not just by rules, but by injecting them the barbaric ideologies of Hijaab (women's head scarf) and the like. What do you expect from one who understands more? *sigh* Here boys/girls are separated from each other even in elementary school. Girls highschools' windows are mostly coverred with metal sheets. Walls of highschools are full of 'Hadith's all implying: 'Don't touch your stuff or you'll go to hell'. And walls of the universities, and books, and TV and... In cities other than Tehran the situ is even worse. We live in a world ruined by 1000+ year old arab/barbaric stuff inherited through Islam cover.(No offence to my Arab brothers all over the globe-They know better what I mean by "1000+ year old arab/barbaric stuff"... the killings of girls, Cutting the hands of thieves, etc in the place which is called Saudi now and te like) Here at least 10 years ago when I was education ang growing up looking for some model/lifestyle the buzzword was what they call 'Taghwaa' something like eating less, having less money, being less ambitious, being poorer, being less proud, being less important, which eventually yields to being less capable, being less useful, etc. That was what the 'system' taught us. Poverty turned out to be a value. The poorer/dirtier you are the more close to Allah you are. Talking to girls? Don;t even think about it. The police in those black years(not more than 10 years ago) hunted young boys/girls in talking/walking together in the street and the was the story of the girls and especially boys being hit by 'them' in the one or two day jails. Almost all the ~30 year man have had some similar experience. Drinking wine even beer was and still is prosecuted here the way 'Islamic' mullas have 'fatwa'ed: Dunno the name... I mean the rope they hit their back with up to 80 hits. You gotta beleive it. Apparently the stupid people who follow whatever the mullas say will succeed in such a system. I feel like they betrayed us. We were young and naiive if you will, accepted all that like a good boy, We (at least me) realized it when it was very late). That's why %50+ of the graduate students of Sharif Uni. of Tech. where I first started my study (Iran's best univ.) immigrate as soon as they can. Here an unmarried boy is or at least was until recently viewed as a potential threat! A widowed woman a potential problem. An active not sad girl a probable... Just those old useless handicapped probabely are appreciated and we all have to be proud of a thousand year old muslim/Iranian scientists whose knowledge was mainly a copy/paste of ancient Roman/Greek science. In this very time I'm writing using dish antenna receivers is against the law! They've manage to isolate people from the outside. Why? Because if people see that majority of ppeople in the world don't give a damn about these old Islamic stuff they may understand more than necessary. I'm glad I found some excuse to say 3% of what is in my mind. Craig Steiner said:
At the very least I'd suggest continuing at the university while you try to get authorization to study in the U.S. No reason to sit around and do nothing while you wait. Yes, inded. I've got enough to do instead of studying...the pdfs ... the LED displays... I'm currently well busy with my entrepreneurial activity on LED displays. Ishall have enough to do/learn for the next 174 years. Each year of my solitary activity turned out to be worth 3 years in the univ. Craig Steiner said:
I had already been hired for what I considered a great job. So I just didn't continue at the university. Same here with my LED sign not-yet-financially-successfull job. Craig Steiner said:
"I've already put 3 years in and I only have one little year left, why not?" Not enough per se. Craig Steiner said:
In any case, best of luck to you! TI is in Dallas so I would concur that a Dallas campus is not a bad choice at all. You people are so motivating. Thank you. |
