... I would rather recommend the AT89C51ED2, as that's what my version of . The Dallas was only a quick-n-dirty hack, just for Craig to try.
The main differences are: - the DS89C4x0 is faster (single clocker vs. the 6-clocker AT89C51ED2) - the double-UART in DS89C4x0 is unused in B52/RD2 - the AT89C51ED2 has some 2kB of EEPROM which can be accessed in B52/RD2 - the AT89C51ED2 has 1.75kB of ERAM* while DS89C4x0 has only 1kB - the best hack is, that the AT89C51ED2's FLASH implements transparent erasure which enabled me to employ writing BASIC programs directly in FLASH, which means that the (rather limited) RAM is fully used for data Jan Waclawek *=XRAM, see the glossary thread :-) |
