Well, it's not the same, as one needs to hold the PSEN during reset only when intends to enter ISP mode. The piece of wire soldered to PSEN and held against the 7805's case for ground by hand (as I do it) is really not something you want to "teach" the beginners. But, if you meant semi-permanent configuration for varius derivatives, then the "two half-circle pads close to each other clear from mask" (to be connected by a drop of solder) and "the same with a narrow connecting line" (to be scratched away) type "devices" can be used for this case in a ceartain way, too.
