I only received two of the four 1uF caps (C16-C19) used by the MAX232 voltage generators. The data sheet indicates that 0.1 uF caps would also work. As best I can tell your board does not use the +/- 10v except for Rs232 comms, so replacing the 1 uF caps with 0.1 uF (which I have plenty of) should not adversely affect the comms, correct?
Also, the two switches seemed a tad small, as though the holes in the board were spec'd for a larger unit. The four pins just made it to the holes, not through. Managed to finish all the soldering this evening, looks real good. Other than the switches, everything fit very well. I will wait until tommorrow to run the board. I prefer less tired eyes to go over all the solder joints one more time before I power up the board with all the chips in place. Hal |
