have you considered a multiprocessor solution. I highlingh to 'or' as opposed to the 'ing'. Thia will even allow you to throw away the stupid RTOS, and - who knows when you have done so, you may be back at one processor..

Onr of my current thingies work with 5 procrssors.

PS with other processors a RTOS MAY not be 'stupid' but for a '51 it is.
