and now everybody is switching to +/- 60,000 counts ADC from Microchip which is at same cost as 7135.
That does not improve precision, resolution is nothing but fooling the customer.

The weighing systems have to be 0.1% accurate
dead easy (10 bits) if it is 1% of full scale. "0.1% accurate" does not say diddlysquat unless it has a reference e.g "of full scale" or "of any weight displayed".

I could very easily and cheaply make a scale if I could label it "not legal for weights below ..."
