#143247 - I just used the Dallas parts!
Responding to: ???'s previous message

I've seen and used various designs based on CMOS gating and comparators, but the most successful were ones based on the Dallas (Maxim) chips which they used on their battery backed modules. They weren't cheap, but they did the job and I had no issues with them doing the job - in fact the boards I designed turned out to be more reliable than the OEM boards they replaced, prompting my customer to make their own! (much to my chagrin).
