Draw out the SPI timing diagrams..... for data transfer.
You will see that the SPI slave micro 2051 has to respond to the SPI master clock edges to manually clock in the data.... IE you have to write your own master and slave bit by bit SPI functions... what pain! (there's no SPI hardware in the 2051) Hence the 2051 slave must detect each rising and falling edge of the 2051 master clock..... If the slave misses one of the clock edges... then data will be corrupted! The faster your master clock goes - the more time critical SPI slave becomes. Joe |
