Rather than the 89C2051, you need the AT89LP2052 which has HW SPI.
Then, you can certainly do a slave SPI quite easily. If speed was not a issue, you could implement an INT based SW SPI, but it would have to be clocked slowly by the remote master to ensure the INT had time to read/write the MISO/MISO on each clock edge. - Given that is a lot of work, and non-trivial for a learner, why not just swap in a AT89LP2052/4052 (or one of their other LP216/LP828 etc.) Atmel have a simulator, (and a OCD debugger coming) for this family. |
