Saw your scheme. Just wondering what would happen in case of simultaneous data flow from two or more connected slaves. What about the arbitration ? Some such scheme woul have to be implemented in the 8051 ? And being bit banged, would it not place a heavy strain on the MCU resources, if you were to serve all the 10 slaves in a round robin manner.

Maybe you would have addressed these issues - just asking out of curiosity. One such application is round the corner at my end.
