Can any one tell me how is it wrong it may not be the optimum solution for some one but certainly it is wrong in no sense. Hallo Prahlad, I was not me who gave you the negative Karma point, but it could have been me! Remember what original poster stated: Ravi said:
I have device which has RS232 output I want to connect 10 device to PC but my pc has only two ports one i have used for mouse nad i have one left. can anyone suggest me how do i implement. Well, this description of situation was totally vague. We don't know anything about the individual RS232 devices. Do they need to communicate to PC only from time to time or do they need to have permanent communication, where all the time messages are sent to or from PC? Also, we do not have any glue about his software. Is it at all possible to add some code lines to control your solution? So, we don't know at all, what the actual situation is. Best proceeding would have been to ask Ravi to give more details. But to give a solution, and then even one that is stated to be 'the cheapest' can be very well interpreted to be 'wrong'. You gave a solution, which MIGHT be a good one, under certain circumstances, when there's nearly total quiteness on the individual RS232 lines. But there are also other applications, where your solution will totally fail, applications that are best suited to be handled by a RS485 bus. Also, there are dozens of different possibilities to control the application of Ravi, for instance to disable certain RS232 output drivers, by some sort of control logic. But it's much too early to make such a suggestion, as long as we don't know any details from Ravi. So, from a certain individual point of view, and that's about when giving Karma points here, your statement Here is a cheapest mehtod that can solve your problem. can indeed be found to be 'wrong' by someone here. And maybe it's a good idea to search the mistake not by someone else first... Kai |
