#79096 - RE: connecting multiply RS232 to pc Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Saw your scheme. Just wondering what would happen in case of simultaneous data flow from two or more connected slaves.
That's where the Handshaking comes to rescue. While one slave is communicating with the 8051 shown any other requests will be put on hold using handshaking signals. If the baud rates are not very high the 8051 can cater to all 10 simultaneously as well. And being bit banged, would it not place a heavy strain on the MCU resources, if you were to serve all the 10 slaves in a round robin manner. certainly, but that won't be a problem since the micro will be dedicated for this application. No other job for this micro. If baud rates are properly chosen [ not too high ] and/or dshaking signals are used there shouldn't be any problem. Regard, Prahlad Purohit |
