First, you don't control switches, they control you.
BASIC hardware might consist of a push button and a pullup resistor. You need to considerdebouncing your switches, you need interrupt driven timerroutines, and you probably need to utilise "State machines" to sequence your system. That said,please read this disclaimer. What is your "medical device" ? There are specialist standards developed for the functionality of medical devices, their EMC and ability to recover from faults. No comments expressed by anyone in this thread should be taken as permitting you to proceed without your own checking and certification of any issues arising from your implementation. Steve |
