SMS is for those that are too lazy to type. It may be acceptable for older style cell phone communications where a limited keyboard was available. But here it is highly unlikely that anyone is using a cell phone browser to post messages to this forum.

When using a normal type keyboard to enter posts the time saved between typing normal English words and the SMS shortcuts is completely irrelevant. Take also into consideration that each posting made here should be previewed before the "Post" button is pressed so that it is reviewed by the original author to ensure that it is clearly written, understandable and free of mistakes. The necessity to be exact and complete, with proofreading, completely negates any preceived need to save time on entering messages.

Anyone striving to be a scientist or an engineer in a technical field, such as 8051 hardware design and applications or microcontroller firmware design and development, should be downright proud of things they write down. Every effort should go into effective and accurate communications. This forum uses written communications and so the written process is what must be followed here for effective communications. As such anyone who is too lazy to prepare effective communications or thinks that it takes too much energy be careful, exact and scientific in their communications should be banned from engineering work.

This is not an old fashioned concept !! What is disturbing is the pure lazyness of certain individuals that think they want to be scientists and engineers but are ill equipped to be prepared to join the ranks of real engineers and scientists.
