As far as I see SMS is simply fast and makes life easier FOR THE WRITER.
If you write something where you save 2 seconds writing and it thus takes 2 seconds longer to read no - interpret - it, that may be an acceptable exchange in a SMS which is read by one person. In a forum where, say, 100 people read the post you save 2 seconds writeing and the readers lose 200 seconds reading. Do the math. The problem(sort of maybe) with it is that "old fashioned people" may not be aware of the jargon and so ban kids using it. This geezer can figure out what the stuff means, he is, however, not willing to "figure out" what someone requesting his assistance for free is trying to ask. Erik |
