Just because a software package is an old version does that make it legal to promote its use without license?

Does it make it legal to allow or permit publication of download sites where non-licensed copies are available?

Just because an educational system, establishment or enterprise has a site licesne to some software, whatever versions, does that make it legitimate to promote its use outside the realm of those confines?

Questions worth asking and considering!

How many of us would like it if some one cloned 8051 hardware or software products we made 10 or 12 years ago and used that to compete against us on the same playing field that we find ourselves on today??
