That way of thinking is one of the fundamental evils in our civilization - see the starving beggar example.

Feeding a starving person is fulfilling a need.
Providing software for free is fulfilling a desire.

Sadly there is still many places where humans die from (the health effects of) starvation and as a matter of fact I do support an organization trying to alleviate that.
Nobody ever died from a software not being available (for free) and I do not support demands for that.
