#102142 - better than ISP for Adam
Responding to: ???'s previous message
No, it does not support serial programming. But, it is better than a hand made ISP cable for Adam because:
1- It is more robust than the ISP cable
2- It is a parallel programmer which is so much faster than ISP programming (programs ATmega32 with 32KBytes flash in something about 10 seconds while in ISP it tooks ages)
3- Saves alot of time for Adam by eliminating the production procedure of the ISP thing.
4- Eliminates extra circuitry on the target board, where in ISP we need to waste the board's space with exra components and also we need the knowledge to know what is needed to be placed on the board for ISP programming.
5- Adam just needs to program his chip. I don't think he gives a damn about how it is gonna be accomplished!
