...but be a little bit cautious, because it lacks a proper reset circuit. Also, if you used a MAX 206 (??) you can get proper handling of the RS232 levels on all the connector pins, and use 100nF caps instead of 1uF caps. Make sure you put a big, 100uF cap across the chip pins, and keep the 100nF bypass too.
