" All of which seems quite reasonable right up to the point at which he says, "... signal from the micro to the PC ..." which is complete nonsense with respect to RS232 standard communication. He's right with respect to the receiver, though. You jumped on this error, rightly, but because of my focus on the receiver, and, perhaps, your failure to mention it, I concluded that we were seeing another case of ERIK: "You're nuts, you should do it this way... and subsequently pursued the thread in this vein.
