#122521 - There are "family" data sheets that are adequate Responding to: ???'s previous message |
These datasheets provide configuration information. By that I mean ALL the configuration modes available.
By far the lowest cost and easiest is the new mode provided by the new Spartan3E series. I'd suggest you look that one up as it uses standard serial flash devices. take a look at http://www.xilinx.com/bvdocs/pu.../ds312.pdf and then look for configuration options within that document. This will tell you about the various ways in which you can configure this family of devices. It has a serial (SPI) configuration option not available in earlier FPGA families. However, it's a good idea to keep in mind that the configuration PROM requirements for FPGA's in this range from 581,344 bits for the XC3S100E to 5,969,696 bits for the XC3S1600E. Go ahead! Have a look! That's the best way to find out how this all fits together. RE |
