Those 5-volt-compatible FPGA's can function to support, as well as to replace the 805x.
Of course, the larger, newer, multi-voltage types are the ones that I'd use to replace the entire system, i.e. ROM, RAM, and I/O, as well as the MCU core, as they're large enough to contain the entire device. They're often not at all cost effective. Unfortunately, unless the device can interface with 5-volt devices, the cost of level shifters quickly makes the system cost prohibitive. RE |
