#142091 - Nonsense! Let him do what he wants!
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Andy,

The only thing that your suggestion will do is to make the O/P's hardware useless. Using something like the SiLabs part merely moves the monitor functions into the PC.

There are dirt-simple ways of solving this problem, starting with a few additional questions. One of them would be to use a well-defined, documented monitor, e.g. Ultramon51, which is free on the www, to make certain his hardware is working. Once he's learned to use that, he won't need anything else, as it assembles and disassembles code without PC involvment. It also autobauds the terminal <=> MCU link, so it requires less

He's using an 8032 board, which implies external ROM, so how much ROM space is provided on his board? What kind of ROM is he using?

Why is it that folks always tell an O/P with a question they don't know how to answer to buy something else? It's HIS project! Either help him with it, or remain silent!
