#142111 - thanks guys... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I'm pretty sure everything's working on the hardware side of things because I still get the monitor program's "Hi, this is Robbie's computer < " I can put in an uppercase H and a help menu will come up that will let me play with the port and load a hex file. It just stalls out when I try to load anything. My old laptop did fine, it just got busted up (not on purpose)and scrounged for parts last semester though. I'm a nortorius pack rat and started looking for anything I could about the monitor. I think that I've actually found the pages I printed out that contains the whole thing. When I took microprocessors, most of the guys didn't really care and they learned a little bit and just took it easy. Me and another guy fell in love with it and got through the class quicker and mr. cook taught us how to wire wrap and let us make our own instead of having to use the ready made ones in class. He gave us his own chips that we couldn't get readily around here, he really was the best teacher I've ever had. The problem came because he used a couple of different monitors at the time and it's been a while since then. I can type out and upload the asm file online that I think is the monitor (the help screen msg looks exactly the same as the help screen that pops up) and link it to here when I get home tonight if anyone thinks they might recognize it or are alot better at perusing asm (i wasn't ever "good" even when I wasn't a year and a half rusty.) I'm really trying to get back into this hardcore.
I really appreciate yall. |
