I suspect that he doesn't know that alternatives exist If you think about it, there's really nothing "better" about the modern ISP-capable FLASH-based parts for most applications that use little or no I/O. I disagree! For one thing, there's no need for a PROM programmer (and eraser) - so he wouldn't have to ask others to blow chips for him. ISP alone doesn't give a lot more than that, I agree, but devices with on-chip debug are in a whole different league. I know you like to stick with the old monitor and glass teletype, but I prefer to take advantage of the modern tools & facilities... ;-) |
