My understanding is that GPS is line of sight or at least line of "bounce."
correct but there is some penetration
I get absolutely no GPS signal when I'm inside my house much less inside a shopping mall.
Missed that one, Our stuff (mounted on city buses) moves mainly outside when downtown.
Maybe the "professional" GPS we use is more sensitive, it does pick up at bus terminals (roof - no walls)
