#79226 - GPS signal penetration Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Me: I get absolutely no GPS signal when I'm inside my house much less inside a shopping mall.
You: Missed that one Right. My thought was in the cell phone being able to determine where it is when it's inside a movie a theater. It seems that would be pretty unlikely. I think the easiest approach would be the sale of a "cell phone discouragement device" which would transmit a weak signal that wouldn't even penetrate a wall--when a cell phone detected that signal it would automatically generate calls at $5/minute. So you'd just buy one or two of those for a movie theater room or for each general area of a dining area in a restauraunt and you post a notice that "All cell calls in this area are subject to the annoyance billing rate." Heck, the cell providers might even give the units away so that they could charge the customer $5/minute. Regards, Craig Steiner |
