#88285 - service connector |
I am designed a AT89C51RB2 "powered" officemachine controller. It will have a connector on its rear for controlling some other devices, for putting it into "service mode", and for programming the µC. It wont be fieldprogrammed; it will be programmed at the factory only. On the other hand - I dont know who will service this mainly mechanical device, and what they might do to this connector. My question is: Should I throw a MAX 232 or the like on every board, or should I just protect the txd/rxd portpins with a series resistor and a cap to ground, and a 'HC14 buffer betwen this and the µc?
I would like to hear from those of you who deals with this in real - what do you do, and how does it work. Ha' en god dag Per Guldmann |
