#88820 - Tx control Responding to: ???'s previous message |
For Rs-485 there need be a pin that states whether the chip transmit or not (not = ready to recieve). The 485 bus is unidirectional.
For each and every product I have made there is a little connector to attach a MAX232 sitting next to the 75176 and that is a pain in the G M since that requires opening of the box. I can appreciate that making a pin wiggle during ISP may not suit all designs very well and thus I suggested that you had a command "set direction pin" with a bitmask for the pin to be used for direction. That way, if no such command were issued (by FlashMagic, Andy has promised support if I can get the feature) the ISP would not be affected and backwards compatibility would be 100%. I can't but wonder why all serial ISP chips do not have this, 485 is more widespread than 232 in industrial/professional designs. Erik |
