Per:
If you must supply power to the service connector then you should put more protection there than a diode. I would suggest that if you know the worst case load and it is low in mA area then consider a resistor in series with the power lines. This way an external short will not current limit and overload your internal regulators or switchers. If the anticipated load current is larger then consider the use of a polyfuse in series with the power lines to the service connector. Michael Karas |
